Velvet Underground has been designing and producing luxury bed linens and soft furnishings since 2002. Designers Kate De Ruty and Libby Berry have a keen sense for the luxurious and the stylish, a passion for all the things beautiful.
Living in Hanoi, Kate de Ruty started up a small workshop in order to work hand in hand with the women who produce our designs, hence giving us the opportunity to match and change upon demand. Working directly with the seam stresses means we are able to more fully understand the process involved in creating our products and adapt them according to special needs.

Our luxurious hand embroidered crisp white bed linen is produced not far from Hanoi in a small village where women have worked in small groups in each others houses for generations passing on their skills from mother to daughter. We are delighted that there are no factories involved.

We are always happy to work with other interior designers’ shops and boutique hotels, but equally for individuals who require bespoke products for special occasions.

No request is too hard, our velvets can be hand dyed to match specific interiors and our sizes and designs adapted accordingly.

Your on-line purchases will take a month or six weeks to arrive, this because we prefer to produce upon demand meaning that none of our products sit around in boxes and warehouses.
